Are there any particular dictation programs you can recommend? And do you use it for comics and prose? I can see how it would be great for prose, but I'm just imagining the formatting of a comic script and it seems like it would be a lot more challenging.
Honestly, Microsoft Word does the trick. It can also guess the punctuation correctly a lot of times - as long as you speak in an unbroken sentence.
For comics, I use it for brainstorming and outlining, but nothing beyond that. Otherwise, you end up focusing on formatting more than actually just writing.
For prose, I'll go as far as a first draft with it - then follow it up with a heavy, heavy edit.
If you factor in the edit time, it's arguable whether it's "faster", but I like being able to get my ideas down quickly while they're hot, instead of waiting for my fingers to catch up.
In my past life I helped train doctors on how to use a dictation software called “Dragon.” After 5 years in that role I got pretty good with it. It does require thorough editing but that should be a given no matter how or what you’re writing.

Makes sense! Thank you for sharing. I'll give it a shot. Half the time I'm talking to myself while writing anyway.
